I bought a 180 Mig welder some time back and recently wanted a gas flow measure to better judge the amount of gas I was using for my welder. In both cases I'm happy with the items and so far seem to be good quality. I am now more a hobbyist, retired and just enjoy making projects.

For adjusting the exact gas pressure and maintaining it while welding I would recommend this product to anyone using tig welding the quality of the product was excellent

Used on a 'hobby' basis but this may change soon? I found the 'Quick settings' helpful for an out of the box experience and with information reading materials the welder is easily configured to accomplish good welds in many materials. Build quality is good and appears to be of the 'Everlast' brand being very similar with very good reviews for this R-Tech variant despite its lower 170Amp rating however, this was a deciding factor due to my electrical supply at present. I have already mentioned this welder and the company to a couple of friends in the motor trade and fabrication industry who showed an interest. As it is a little early to say how durable this welder will be I can only go on previous reviews seen on the internet and machines in regular use for some years seem to be praised for their build quality. Hopefully once I pick up the gauntlet where it was left and I become more acquainted with this machine I shall perhaps post a review to my YouTube channel but I'll need to get my 'Dimes' in line before that. All in all a great experience from web to workshop this has been effortless, my only regret is not buying this machine a year ago when I first saw it. If I had any suggestions for improvement? The Everlast you tube channel has quite a few 'How to' guides from 'Ambassadors' relating to actual welding tips and tricks that given the similarity in machines is very helpful. For the sake of flooding the internet with yet more content but at the benefit of the R-Tech product, this would be a great addition to the companies profile and definitely aid those buyers just starting out on the journey into the dark art of joining metal together (and us 'ol timers that are used to oil cooled stick welders of museum quality) Many thanks to the R-Tech team for their help, keep up the good work.

I could not use this device because I could not fit the regulator and the flowmeter at the same time to the hobbyweld bottle that I use.

Very simple to set up and use to control gas flow rate - seems pretty robust.

Used to prevent excessive use of expensive gas - works very well enabling accurate control of flow rate. This product will quickly pay for itself with saved argon gas. I would say it is essential, the bottle gauges alone are not a very good way of measuring flow accurately. Good quality product at a very reasonable cost.

I ordered one before and have it on mini disposable cartridges of argon. I had so much trouble online shopping for cartridges which actually had a full charge of gas in them I upgraded to Hobbyweld and this is to partner the provided regulator. The Informative video on the company website makes a strong pitch for these straightforward devices being a key part of anyone's gas delivery system.

I am using this to supplement the mini regulator on disposable shield gas cannisters. A necessary economy. I think anyone using those would benefit from tighter control on flow rates. Its really well engineered and the cheapo regulators that are all we can get online compare poorly with the neat little flow meter. Great product and very affordable.

Fits directly to the pressure reducing valve. Takes second to fit. Argon is expensive and this little flowmeter will allow accurate setting of argon flow-rates. It's not expensive and it could save you a load of money! Well worth the investment. Every welder should have one and, for the price, it's very good quality.

Upgrading my hobby mig welder and read the reviews and watched R-Tech video . Item is very good quality and is so accurate . Next item will be new welder . Just unsure if it?s a new mig or tig . Either way R-tech will be my 1st choice

Quality is impeccable, which makes it very easy to fit,. adjust and read. Very happy with this, and the easy of keeping the gas rate exactly where it needs to be, and avoid wasting it. I was afraid it may be very fragile, but with a bit of care in keeping it out of harms way, it has proven to be durable in the workshop.

Although not a high user of welding gas as a DIY welder, the flow meter does afford a more accurate setting than just relying on the regulator. Also the neat tip in the R Tech video does ensure that any slight leakage is easily noticed by the added *** on the ball bearing.

Only purchased based on reviews and recommendations that it would allow finer control of gas flow. In use it does make controlling the gas flow easy and should hopefully allow me to optimise my gas usage. I'm a scrimper and would hate to be wasting gas.

Nicely made. The control valve is smooth and progressive. Threads are well-formed - no squeals when you ** them up.

I bought the flow metre to compliment an RTech regulator I bought for my newly set up tig welder, it will enable me to better manage my gas use without affecting the quality of my welding. I found the product to be solidly made and I followed a clever Tip I saw on the one of the website videos to mark the folwmeters ball with a felt tip to observe and detect if any leaks are present in the system.

Although using a new regulator the fine adjustment is still a rough adjustment of gas I found with this Argon flow meter it gave me much more controllability which will equate to around 30% saving in gas

I needed a product to monitor the gas flow to a caravan cooker. I substituted the steel ball with a lighter plastic one of the same size. It does exactly what I needed. I think it is a really well made gadget at a very reasonable price.

Used with mig welder. You need to know the actual gas flow to the torch. Recommended to anyone with a mig setup. I also have one on tig welder setup. Quality is good, seems to be well made. The flow control knob on this last one it stiffer to rotate than on the last one but that doesn?t hinder its operation.

Minor quibble, but I would have liked a dual scale.

I use it on my R-Tech180 Amp Portable Inverter Mig Welder, the Flow meter looks and feels very well made. I would recommend this flow meter to anyone who has a Mig ***er, as it is far more accurate than a pressure gauge. This in turn ensures you have the correct amount of gas for the ***ing you are doing (too little gas or too much = poor *** and potentially wasted gas).

I had suspected my regulator reading a bit high so bought a flow meter, fitted it and it was easy to set the correct flow rate for the job, regulator was 20% low.

A longer neck on the input side would be beneficial as the body of the meter impacts on the (full ring) handle on the Argon bottle, resulting in the meter having to be at an angle. Maybe a machine mounting option would be good.

I bought 2 of these 1 for a previous purchase of my rather large and rather more expensive water cooled tig- welder and the other was for my new 180amp inverter mig welder they are very useful, however you do loose a bit of getting them set correctly.

Simple flow meter which fits inline works well and gives a better indication of the amount of gas being used. Before having these there was no way of telling the flow of gas and ended up using far more gas than required.

Not to bad quality but noticed the the hose fitting at the bottom of the flow meter is at angle when tightened. I was unable to get it sitting straight on tightening.

Got this to cut down on waste and so I know the torch is getting the amount of gas it needs, not just a hissing sound, I'm sure when you are an expart you can set the flow by ear, until then I'll go with the flow meter. Great quality once again.

I purchased this to add to my current regulator as these give a more accurate reading, i have set it up and tested it to find out that i was using more gas than my old regulator was reading. Seems to be well built and works good. Would recommend to anyone who wants to save money on sheilding and get a true reading on LPM flow rate.

I run my own carpentry business and every now and then something needs welding, I have a MIG welder but also use the TIG where precision is needed. So very infrequent but it saves me lots of time and money in the long run. The machine is very well made and gives very good ability for control and usability considering it can be months between use.

The Argon Flow Meter is very easy to connect and set up. The 'Green' tap is a plastic 'push on' type and being new presents no problem but after much use it might have been better to have a 'metal' type that is fixed to the Flow Meter with a nut ?

Had my mig welder for near on thirty years never had a flow meter on it ! Saw a video how to save money on gas and thought for that price I?d give it a try what?s the worst that can happen. Straight away I had to turn the pressure down and the sound of gas is now barely audible so I?ve been wasting gas for thirty years nearly. Any one using welding gas without a flow meter get one ordered I recon it will pay for itself in one to two full size bottles. Saw the ad for the gas flow regulator. Not very happy with my existing regulator set up and sure I use too much shielding gas. Very easy to fit - did the marker pen mod as suggested in your video. Very easy to now adjust to the best gas flow rate.

We are a refrigeration company who have to do certain amounts of welding. This product helps us identify our use of gas - exactly what we needed

Only issue is that with the single stage argon regulator the markings end up on the wrong side so you cannot easily read them - the flow markings should really go all around the glass section Makes setting flow nice and easy

I thought I would treat myself to a TIG welder after using MIG for so long. After much searching and comparing, I settled on the R-Tech TIG 161 AC/DC 160Amp. A few more knobs and buttons than my old MIG and I'm happy to say that for me it meant that it is more controllable and easy to use. After a few test welds, took on my sons Golf R32 exhaust! Excellent product and well made, would highly recommend this TIG.

I want to explore welding stainless and purging.

Accurate enough flow meter. However with my gas setup it's difficult to get the flow rate measures to be visible. Ideally they'd be printed on both sides or around the whole cylinder.

Feels a bit cheap but does the job so can?t complain really for the price.

Flow meeter works well

I now have two of these, both on Hobby-Weld Argon cylinders. The smaller cylinder has rigid fittings and the Flow Meter sits vertically and works well. That on the larger 'Argon Ultra' cylinder is attached via a quick connector (similar to an air line) that is neither rigid nor horizontal. The Flow Meter still works but I suspect its accuracy may be affected. This is not the fault of the product which is well made and fit for purpose just an observation for anyone wanting one for an 'Ultra' cylinder.
